17 minutes, and one question we read before your CV

No cover letter. This form is four short sections, and the one that matters most is the third: a campaign-day situation on a large online store, and we want to see how you'd handle it. At the end you upload your CV, because we present the team's CVs to the client who owns the project.

About the role

Front End Developer (React / Remix)

We're looking for a front end developer to join the team behind a large online store in Saudi Arabia that runs in Arabic and English. You'll be responsible for building pages and campaign pages quickly and accurately, and for the site's speed and how easy it is to buy. This role is tied to a new project expected to start in November 2026, and the appointment is confirmed once the project is approved.

What you'll do

  • Build new pages and components from Figma designs.
  • Prepare and publish campaign pages on the same day: banners, countdown timers and a full campaign makeover of the home page.
  • Make sure every page works correctly in Arabic and English and on mobile.
  • Set up tracking codes and purchase events for new campaigns.
  • Run A/B tests between two versions of a page to see which sells more.
  • Improve page load speed.
  • Review every campaign on the website and the app before it launches.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Strong React and TypeScript.
  • Experience with Remix or Next.js.
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS.
  • Hands-on experience with bilingual sites and right-to-left layouts.
  • Responsive design for every screen size.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and e-commerce events.
  • Improving page speed and Google's page experience metrics (Core Web Vitals).
  • Reading Figma designs and taking measurements from them.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Vite and Swiper.
  • Ad tracking codes for Meta, Snapchat, TikTok and Google Ads.
  • A/B testing tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar.
  • Experience with React Native.
  • Accessibility standards for people with disabilities.

Working conditions

  • Full time and dedicated to a single long-term project, on an initial 12-month contract that can be renewed.
  • Fully remote, from any country, on Saudi time.
  • Fluent Arabic and English, reading and writing.
  • Able to review Arabic and English pages and catch right-to-left layout problems.
  • Previous experience on a live online store with electronic payments, offers and campaigns — not only brochure sites.
  • Ready to work in shifts on Saudi time, Sunday to Thursday, and to take part in the emergency on-call rotation on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Ready for a heavier workload in the big campaign seasons — Ramadan, Eid, National Day, White Friday and the summer season — with advance notice.
  • Committed to confidentiality and to protecting customer data, signing in to systems with a personal account and two-factor authentication.
  • Working from a ticketing system such as Jira and documenting everything you deliver.
  • Agreeing to your CV being shared with the client, and to a possible interview by the client.
  • Available to start during November 2026.

Scenario question — the main one

A campaign went live an hour ago, and three problems surface at once

A situation that comes up again and again on large online stores. Read it slowly, and answer as you'd genuinely act if the call were yours.

A large online store in Saudi Arabia launched its National Day campaign at 9 AM, with the ads running since yesterday. An hour after launch, three things come up at the same time:

  1. The payment success rate has dropped from 94% to 71%, and most of the failed orders were paid with mada cards.
  2. 60 of the campaign's products still show the old price in the app, while the website shows them correctly.
  3. The client's marketing team wants a new banner at the top of the home page within the hour, because a Snapchat ad points to it.

The team is available, but the three can't all be handled at the same speed, and the client's team is waiting for your reply now.

Write two things: (a) what gets done first, in what order, and why? (b) the message you'd send the client's team right now, word for word.

Your answer150 clear words beat 400 repetitive ones.0 / 250
A question for your role150 words or fewer. We're not after an essay.0 / 150

A product page is slow on mobile. Where do you start looking for the cause? This question changes with the role you're applying for.

Which is closest to how you work?

There genuinely is no right answer here. What matters is the line underneath.

Why that one?

We read this line more closely than the choice above it.

Tell us about a production incident you were part of: what happened, and what changed afterwards?40 to 80 words.0 / 80

What we're actually measuring

  • Order: what you put first and why — not how many things you got done
  • Diagnosis: how you'd find the cause before changing anything in production
  • Clarity: whether your message lands without the client's team needing to ask a follow-up
  • Honesty: whether you said plainly what will be late, and when it will be done

What we're not

  • Spelling and grammar — write the way you normally write
  • Tool names — naming a particular tool doesn't matter; your reasoning does
  • Length — 150 clear words beat 400 repetitive ones
  • "The right answer" — there isn't one, and more than one order is defensible

Attachments and submission

Nearly done. Upload your CV, because we present the team's CVs to the client who owns the project. The consent and the declaration are required; the rest is optional.

Yes. It's fully remote, from any country, on Saudi time (GMT+3).

Sunday to Thursday in shifts, with an emergency on-call rotation on Fridays and Saturdays. Of the two front end developers, one works the early shift and one the afternoon shift, swapping weekly. The final rota is confirmed before you start.

The start is during November 2026, on an initial 12-month contract that can be renewed. The role is tied to a new project, and the appointment is confirmed once the project is approved.

Yes. We present the team members' CVs, by name, to the client who owns the project, and the client may ask to interview a candidate. That's why the application form asks for your consent, and we don't share your CV without it.

We don't list the salary in the posting; it's agreed at the interview. The application form asks for the monthly salary you expect.

3 to 5 years, with strong React and TypeScript and experience of bilingual sites, plus previous experience on a live online store with electronic payments, offers and campaigns — not only brochure sites.

You'll get a written answer by email within five working days of applying, yes or no.
